the victim's apartment; the victims' sexual orientation

There are two fun errors in "Two arrested in West End assault" in today's 24H Vancouver. What makes them fun? Well, the first error has the apostrophe before the S in victim's when there are clearly two victims, so the apostrophe should be after the S. Then, when writing about a different assault later in the article,

the writer puts the apostrophe after the S in victims' when there is clearly only one victim, so the apostrophe should be before the S. It's a fun apostrophe switcheroo! It's a fun aposteroo! Methinks the writer should take a fun writing class to learn about apostrophe placement. This is a page-3 story that was either not proofread or proofread very poorly.
